H.O. Tiedemann was an explorer who led a CPR survey crew.

He was apparently in Victoria sometime before 1860 since there is a drawing by him of Victoria Harbour from 1860.

There is a glacier and mountain that is likely named by or after him near the head of Bute Inlet. He and his survey crew were in that area in 1872.
