Kicking Horse Pass, 1890

The Kicking Horse Pass is a pass through the Rocky Mountains. Both the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Transcanada Highway use the pass.

From the pass, the Kicking Horse River flows west, joining the Columbia River at Golden, and the Bow River flows east past Calgary, eventually forming the South Saskatchewan River when it joins the Oldman River.
