John Trutch (1828 - XXX) was a civil engineer and surveyer who led survey crews in British Columbia (see Surveying) and supervising of government contracts on the Onderdonk Sections.
He was born in Jamaica and was educated in England. He arrived on the west coast of North America in 1851 and practiced in Oregon until 1858 when he moved Victoria.
During the 1870s, he was in charge of a survey crews. In 1871, he was in charge of the Southern Region.
His brother was Sir Joseph Trutch, the first Lietuant Governor of British Columbia.
