Charles George Horetzky (1838-1900) aka Horetsky, was an explorer and cameraman. He was born in Edinbourgh, Scotland to a Ukranian family and died in Toronto, Ontario. He began his career with the Hudson's Bay Company. In 1872, he accompanied Sandford Fleming's party across the country.

During his explorations of 1874, he named one of the main tributaries of the Kemano River after himself. He was quite outspoken (see Horetzky (1874)) about a northern route for the CPR (the area he explored). He also was one of the first photographers on the West Coast to use dry plate technology.src.
