CPR Bridge Crew 2

See Image:Cprbridgecrew1.jpg for regular view

From the Ebay description (#6221971032, November 2005, sold for $215USD):

This is a rare cabinet card photographic image from the Canadian Pacific wilderness of a construction or work crew for the C.P.R. that is posing on a newly built bridge with some of their carpentry tools. Card is 5" by 8" and it is in excellent condition with sharp focus and good contrast. This is an interesting image of a dozen different workmen in their outfits of the day. This is part of a terrific lot of 15 stereoviews and 40 cabinet card photographs of the Canadian Rockies in western Canada, particularly the Silkerk Mountains in British Columbia, taken by a few different photographers in the 1880s. Subjects are mostly associated with the exploration and building of the Canadian Pacific Railway through that remote wilderness area, and several are of the trains, trestles, and some great images of the actual workers.
